Who is Rockwood Swim Club?
The Rockwood Swim
Club Association (RSCA) is a nationally renowned swimming
organization that provides swimming programs for student athletes
of all ages and talent levels. The programs include swim
lessons for young children and developmental swimming competition,
which progresses all the way to the National Team level that
competes at national meets such as the U.S. Open, Speedo Junior
National Championships, and the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
The Rockwood Swim
Club SwimAmerica program provides swim lessons for children ranging
from 5 to 16 years of age. This program includes over 80
qualified coaches and instructors to meet the demands of our
ever-growing program – and is intended to promote family
wellness and fitness, water safety, and overall promotion of the
sport of swimming.
Facilities:
Rockwood Swim Club
utilizes the Rockwood School District's five
indoor 25 yard pool facilities in West St. Louis County.
In addition, in the summer of 2005 a state-of-the-art 50 meter
outdoor, above-ground pool was opened that is virtually identical
to the pool facilities used in the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in
Long Beach, CA.
Proof of Success:
We are proud of
all our athletes who develop, train and compete with the
Rockwood Swim Club. In excess of 250 of our student athletes
have gone on to earn athletic / academic scholarships at the
college level; at least 15 U.S. Olympic Team Trials
qualifiers; over 75 Junior National qualifiers; over 25 Senior
National qualifiers; and 2 World Record holders.
Mission Statement:
Rockwood Swim Club
is a member of USA Swimming, the National Governing Body for
competitive swimming in the United States.
We provide
superior coaching, training, state-of-the-art pool facilities and
training equipment, and a learning environment designed to bring
out the best in all our athletes at every level of their
development. We strive to provide an exciting and
worthwhile experience for every athlete. These experiences go
far beyond the winning and losing of races; swimming develops
character traits used throughout one’s life - including
self-confidence, discipline and work ethic.
Vision Statement:
The vision
statement of USA Swimming is ... "To inspire and enable our members
to achieve excellence in the sport of swimming and in life".
Rockwood Swim Club supports this vision as well.
